The 2023 Chevrolet Silverado continues to be one of the most popular and hardworking trucks on the market, In an effort to increase its appeal even more, Chevrolet is offering a ZR2 version for 2023.

Originally getting its start on the smaller Colorado, the ZR2 moniker has made the jump to the larger Silverado and brought a whole garage’s worth of upgrades with it.

The 33-inch Goodyear Wrangler all-terrain tires and special 18” wheels immediately catch the eye. Tougher to see is the added ground clearance which comes courtesy of redesigned bumpers and there are a number of suspension tweaks, including Multimatic spool-valve dampers. Originally popularized in race cars, spool-valve dampers help reduce issues surrounding metal fatigue in traditional dampers and offer specific damping characteristics across a wide range of suspension travel. They also allow for more wheel travel, which is important for an off-roader like the ZR2. Other upgrades include front and rear e-lockers and unique spring tuning.

The 2023 Silverado ZR2 is available only with a 6.2-litre V8 good for 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque, fed to all four wheels through a 10-speed automatic transmission. That means strong acceleration on all types of terrain, and the ability to cruise comfortably without ever breaking a sweat.

Since the Silverado ZR2 is made to excel off-road, it comes available only with a four-door crew cab and five-foot bed because a longer bed means a longer wheelbase, making tougher, tighter trails that much harder to navigate. To make off-road work easier still, the Silverado ZR2 also gets a Terrain drive mode that allows for one-pedal rock crawling.

Inside, we find the standard fitment of a massive 13.4” infotainment system and 12.3” digital gauge cluster as well as premium Bose audio, leather seats and ventilated front seats. The ZR2 is a big, wide, tall vehicle and threading it through tight city streets and into tight parking spots is made easier by a standard high-definition surround-view monitor.

To make sure that those who buy their off-road spec pickup can still tow and haul, Chevrolet has provided the ZR2 with the Multi-Flex tailgate that can be opened in a number of ways and even provides a step for easier bed access. It can also tow over 4,000 kg and haul over 650 kg.

The 2023 Chevrolet Silverado ZR2 can scorch a trail, climb a rock and tow your boat. Come visit us and see how it can do all that and much more.
