Everything we know about the Chevrolet Equinox EV

Chevrolet is planning multiple new electric vehicles that are coming in the next couple of years. By 2024, Chevrolet will offer an electric version of its Blazer midsize SUV while also bringing to market an electric Silverado.  Chevrolet also has plans to introduce a new electric version of its compact Chevrolet Equinox SUV in 2024. Although few details have been provided on the 2024 Chevy Equinox EV, here is what we know so far.

It will feature the advanced GM Ultium platform

The 2024 Chevrolet Equinox EV will likely be built on the impressive GM Ultium technology which is General Motors’ advanced electric vehicle architecture. One of the most modern in the world, the GM Ultium platform is designed to offer a lot of all-electric range and very quick charging capabilities. The GM Ultium platform is an 800-volt architecture that allows electric vehicles to charge at up to 350 kW, providing 160 kilometres of range in just 10 minutes and a full charge in under 30 minutes. We don’t know if the Equinox EV will feature the 400-volt version of this platform, but what is certain is that it will have a lot of range and charging capability.

It will have a similar look to the current Chevrolet Equinox SUV

We expect the 2024 Chevy Equinox EV to have a similar look to the current Equinox SUV. This comes from a recently published image by GM of the upcoming electric Equinox. We see the vehicle from the side, and although we don't have all of the details, what we do know is that that it will likely provide a design that is reminiscent of a traditional vehicle but with exclusive electric touches. Like the Silverado EV and the Blazer EV, we expect the Equinox EV to have a bold and sporty design that doesn't compromise interior space for practicality. Moreover, we expect the new electric Equinox to feature a very modern, very connected interior.

The range should top 500 km

Back to the range, we expect the Chevrolet Equinox EV to offer over five hundred kilometres of range thanks to its GM Ultium platform.

2024 Chevrolet Equinox EV price

The 2024 Chevrolet Equinox EV will likely have a starting price of under $50,000. It is likely that the entry-level model will start at under $45,000 in order to be eligible for government rebates. Chevrolet hinted in the past that the 2024 Chevrolet Equinox EV would start at $37,250, but we will have to wait for the official confirmation.

We should get more details on the 2024 Chevrolet Equinox EV this year.
