2025 GMC Terrain: Safety & Tech Take Center Stage in Redesigned Compact SUV

GMC has revealed the next-generation 2025 Terrain, showcasing significant upgrades to its compact SUV offering. Set to launch later this year, the new Terrain boasts improved safety features, advanced technology, and a fresh design that aligns with GMC's broader lineup.

Enhanced Safety Suite and Cutting-Edge Technology

The 2025 Terrain comes standard with over 15 safety and driver assistance features. New additions include Enhanced Automatic Emergency Braking, Bicyclist Braking, Intersection Automatic Emergency Braking, and Blind Zone Steering Assist. These enhancements aim to provide drivers with increased confidence and protection on the road.

A standout feature is the 15-inch Premium GMC Infotainment System, complemented by an 11-inch driver information centre. The system supports Google Assistant integration, allowing for hands-free operation of various functions. Up to eight camera views are available, including an optional rear camera mirror - a first for the Terrain model.

Design Refresh

The exterior design of the 2025 Terrain draws inspiration from GMC's truck lineup, featuring a more athletic stance and a distinctive grille that connects the headlamps to the lower fog lights. A new two-tone roof option in black or gray adds a level of customization previously unseen in the Terrain range.

Trim Levels and Performance

The Elevation trim will be the first to launch, offering 17-inch wheels as standard. AT4 and Denali trims are slated for release in 2025 as 2026 models, with the AT4 focusing on off-road capability and the Denali emphasizing luxury features.

All Terrain models will be equipped with a 1.5L Turbocharged engine, producing 175 horsepower and 203 lb-ft of torque. The Elevation trim will feature standard all-wheel drive and an 8-speed automatic transmission at launch.

Duncan Aldred, global vice president of Buick and GMC, stated, "The 2025 GMC Terrain builds on GMC's strengths and offers our latest, premium technology and safety features, while bringing a fresh, bold design to our two-row SUV."

More details regarding pricing and specific launch dates are expected closer to the vehicle's release later this year.
