All-new for 2024, the Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 Bison, developed in collaboration with American Expedition Vehicles (AEV), arrives as America's ultimate off-road beast. Designed to conquer any terrain, the Bison sets new benchmarks for off-road performance, ride quality, handling, and safety in the midsize truck segment. This rugged vehicle has been put through its paces by champion off-road racer Chad Hall and undergone rigorous testing on the infamous Rubicon Trail, demonstrating its true off-road capabilities.

Unmatched Off-Road Capability

The Colorado ZR2 Bison is designed with a variety of unique off-road enhancements. The truck's segment-exclusive Multimatic front and rear Jounce Control Dampers provide superior control and stability on uneven terrains. Furthermore, the AEV heavy-duty winch-capable front bumper, AEV rear bumper, and AEV fender flares add to the truck's robustness and capability.

The Bison rides on AEV 17-inch beadlock-capable wheels shod with segment-exclusive 35-inch OD Mud/Terrain tires, enhancing its grip and control on a variety of terrains. Boron steel skid plates and rocker protectors contribute to the best-in-class underbody protection, ensuring the vital components of the vehicle are safeguarded during off-road excursions.

Additionally, the Bison showcases best-in-class approach (38.2 degrees), departure (26 degrees), and breakover angles (26.9 degrees), allowing it to navigate steep slopes and challenging terrains effectively. The truck also boasts a best-in-class ground clearance of 12.2 inches, further boosting its off-road credentials.

Advanced Infotainment and Connectivity

Inside the Bison, drivers will appreciate Chevrolet's advanced infotainment system, featuring an 11.3-inch-diagonal color touchscreen with Google built-in. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility are also standard, ensuring seamless smartphone integration. The vehicle is Wi-Fi Hotspot capable, keeping passengers connected even during off-road adventures.

Safety and Driver Assistance Features

Despite its primary focus on off-road performance, the 2024 Colorado ZR2 Bison is not light on safety. Chevy Safety Assist is standard and includes Automatic Emergency Braking, Front Pedestrian Braking, Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning, Following Distance Indicator, Forward Collision Alert, and IntelliBeam auto high beam control. Adaptive Cruise Control is also available as an option.

Robust Propulsion and Towing Capability

The 2024 Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 Bison is equipped with a 2.7L Turbo DOHC I-4 engine that churns out 310 horsepower. The powertrain is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission, with 4WD and a 2-speed transfer case standard. Despite its formidable off-road capability, the Bison doesn't compromise on utility, with a payload capacity of 1,050 pounds and a maximum towing capacity of 5,500 pounds.

In summary, the 2024 Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 Bison promises to deliver unparalleled off-road capabilities without compromising ride quality, handling, safety, or connectivity. Its robust off-road equipment, advanced infotainment features, comprehensive safety suite, and robust propulsion system make it an appealing choice for off-road enthusiasts.
